Wrote our famous naive painter, poet and historian John Vecenaj. This is actually a geographical area which is located next to the Hungarian border.

The first association that comes to man in the village of Gola unusual name, which in its unusual name lies historical origin. Situated close to the river Drava and the Hungarian border in the Pannonian plain, where once there Pannonian Sea. Even today we have a population that speaks the original Hungarian language, but as they talked to a few hundred years, they are a little farther away geographically close to the border and live in the village Zdala that I part of the Municipality of Gola. Gola Municipality now has about three thousand inhabitants in an area of about 50 km square. This is the end of which is abundant in natural resources, fertile soil, clean and unpolluted waters, and environmentally-conscious residents.

                     

On the economic point of view of economic and community Gola has developed agriculture and cattle breeding and valuable to people .. It has developed cultural and social life, and the map occupies an important place in the importance of naive art in the world. So they really originated from naked world famous and renowned artists naive that I mention it was John Vecenaj, Martin Mehkek,

Nevenka Rehorovic-Matas, Biserka Zlatar ... Francis Vujcec Stephen Vecenaj and other younger generation who went through this. So a few years ago and founded golska art association, which brings together local artists uniting them in many activities, the more important art colony and organize for charity, organizing exhibitions, and encouraging environmental awareness.

Here we have a beautiful collaboration with the gentlemen from the Croatian diaspora in Zagreb, and especially with Mr. Ivica Jurjevic which is one of the initiators of this.

                          

I have to say one important thing that all these events regarding culture, environmental awareness and humanitarian aspects would not be possible with the support of local authorities, ie frontal human head and parliament member Dr. Stephen Gole Milinkovic,

 who carries the voice of the people in Parliament and on which we are all very proud. So for six years in Goli held significant art colony in the very center of the village, with the theme "Experience in the village of naive art. In addition to our artists that belong golskoj art association, responded to a lot of guest artists who have joined us and contributed.

The topic is quite fit into the celebration of important anniversaries, celebrations of the centenary of breeding livestock in these areas, in whose we are and we celebrate here today .....
